Community Engagement

Giving back to the community is an important part of who we are at Sterling Homes

Habitat for Humanity

Sterling Homes is proud to support Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit that helps build homes for hundreds of families in need of safe affordable housing across northern Alberta each year. Through the Habitat Day campaign, Sterling Homes has gifted three homes to the non-profit organization. When it comes to meeting the needs of our community, we stand united in making our communities a great place for all families.

Haunted Showhome

In 2018, Sterling Homes introduced Edmonton's first ever Haunted Showhome. The event features a family friendly portion in the early evening, and actors are then brought in later for those looking for an extra depth of horror. The Haunted Showhomes was a huge success, and while it was a great deal of fun, the main goal was to collect donations for both Santa's Anonymous and the Edmonton Food Bank. Thank you to each and every sponsor and attendee who helped to donate to these great organizations.

Edmonton Food Bank

Sterling Homes is proud to support the Edmonton Food Bank. Throughout the year, we make charitable donations to help those in need. Please take a moment to donate or learn more about the amazing work the Edmonton Food Bank does here: www.edmontonsfoodbank.com

Edmonton John Howard Society

Sterling Homes is proud to support the Edmonton John Howard Society. In 2020, our team was able to support 2 individuals in their Family Violence Prevention Centre and one youth in their REE*START program, through thoughtfully selected gift baskets.

Canadian Mental Health Association

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. Through a presence in more than 330 communities across every province and one territory, CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive. Sterling Homes is proud to have sponsored the 2021 Annual Distress Line Fundraiser and donated $2,500 to the program.

Hope Mission

In October 2021, the warehouse storing Hope Missions winter donations was destroyed by a fire. Because these donations are critical to those Hope Mission serves, they were in dire need of immediate help. After hearing of this desperate situation, Sterling Homes employees promptly acted by starting a clothing drive in the Qualico parking lot to help replace those donations. Through their efforts, Sterling employees were able to collect over 900 winter items and necessities for those in need including 162 winter coats, 18 snow pants. 21 pairs of boots, 159 sweaters, 15 blankets, 125 toques, 81 pairs of gloves, and 307 miscellaneous items including scarves, socks, pants, and shirts.
