A sump pump is an integral part of your home’s water management system. It’s submerged in your home’s sump pail and automatically pumps excess water out to avoid flooding from water naturally migrating into the soil. This excess water is usually pumped into the city storm sewers, or can be discharged onto the final grade, although this is frowned upon.
